The Slovak–German pianist of Hungarian origin began her studies at the Preparatory Department of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under the guidance of I. Joó, and received her diploma at the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg as a student of S. Simonian. She pursued her master’s studies at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar under S. Balázs. In T. Steinhöfel’s class, she deepened her skills in song interpretation, and in L. Kondratjeva’s class, she honed her chamber music artistry. Her musical development was profoundly influenced by masters such as P. Badura-Skoda, G. Gruzman, I. Klánský, and A. Delle Vigne.
A prizewinner of international competitions, she performs regularly in Germany, Slovakia, and across Europe. Her playing, marked by refined sensitivity and versatility, has earned wide recognition; critics describe her as an authentic interpreter of “Schubert’s poetic world.” As a soloist and chamber musician, she has collaborated with the Jena Philharmonic, Capella Istropolitana, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, and the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra. Her frequent artistic partner is double bass player R. Patkoló, winner of the Opus Klassik Award. She has also appeared on prestigious stages such as Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle.
Marouf is a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium and other scholarships, supported by the Carl Bechstein Foundation and the ZONTA Club Hamburg-Alster. She is co-founder of the Schubert Society, has served as Artistic Director of the J. N. Hummel Festival since 2018, and is president of the Hummel Society in Weimar.
