Veronika Geszthy is a Hungarian soprano and a regular performer in both musical theatres and concert halls, specializing in opera, operetta, and oratorio.
She began her vocal studies at the Újpest Music School and the Szent István Király Secondary School of Music, and continued at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, graduating in 2004 as an opera singer and vocal teacher. During these years, she received multiple awards and special prizes at prestigious Hungarian singing competitions.
She made her debut at the Hungarian State Opera as Iluska in Pongrác Kacsóh’s János vitéz, followed by her operetta debut in January 2005 at the Budapest Operetta Theatre in the title role of Imre Kálmán’s Countess Maritza. From 2005 to 2015, she was a member of the Budapest Operetta Theatre ensemble.
Since September 2015, she has been teaching private voice lessons at the Szent István Király Secondary School of Music and AMI, and from 2023, she also conducts sound therapy concerts and sessions.
Geszthy has appeared multiple times at the Budapest Spring Festival, performing oratorio solos and roles such as Susanna in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro under director Balázs Kovalik in 2006 and 2007.
She has performed as a soloist with the Zugló Philharmonic and later with the St. Stephen Philharmonic, and internationally in London, Florence, Munich, Frankfurt, Baden-Baden, Valencia, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Montreal, Florida, and Tokyo.
As a guest artist, she has appeared at theatres across Hungary, including the Debrecen Csokonai Theatre, Veszprém Petőfi Theatre, Sopron Petőfi Theatre, Győr National Theatre, Pesti Magyar Színház, Szolnok Szigligeti Theatre, Hungarian Musical Theatre, Rátonyi Róbert Theatre, Operettvilág Ensemble, and Turay Ida Theatre. For more than a decade, she has been a regular performer at the Hungarian State Opera and with Operavisit Kft. concerts.
